I will sleep soon.
I will dream of fire.
A fire that consumes
the outer edges of Sequoia trunks.
Inches burned away.
2000 years of growth.
One burn year in every ten;
The statistics are not on your side.
Fire scars, ripped caves at your feet;
A black almond hole in so much red flesh.
