Morning light moves
along the wall.
Brush dripped air
leaks lights.
Their bed is
pushed up against
the red wall.
If they lay low enough
graphite outlined rays
might pass them by.

Pencil shading
notes the distance
between their fleshy
hip bone arcs.
Dwelling on their sides.

Dust mites
turn in between
the pinking streaks
and work to pull them
from their bed,
sweep cool against
their skin.
